A CPS technician walks through hands-on scenarios to educate parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and any other caregiver hows to properly use and install child car seats!
Being improperly restrained during a motor vehicle crash is the leading cause of death for children and 4 out of every 5 car seats are installed incorrectly. This course's goal is to educate caregivers how to safely transport children from point A to point B and decrease the chance of injury or death by safely putting kids in the right car seat.
Topics addressed in this class include:
Picking the correct position for a child in the carKnowing which type of seat is right for your child's age and weight How to install each type of car seat correctly (infant, convertible, booster seat)Seat belt use for all agesDriving practices and how they impact your child's safetySafe Kids and the National Highway Safety Authority are the credentialing organizations for our technicians. The technician instructing the course is able to do a car seat check on your installed car seat after the class if you are interested. You must sign a liability waiver if a car seat check is performed.
