For School Counselors
During an interactive 3 hour session, participants will have an opportunity to evaluate the effective implementation of the four components of a comprehensive guidance program which are guidance curriculum, responsive services, individual student planning, and system support in order to successfully serve all stakeholders. Through a variety of engaging activities, discussions and time of collaboration, participants will be given practical tools to implement if desired.
Dr. Kristi Slate is an Associate Professor and School Counseling Program Coordinator at SAGU. She has been a part of public education for almost 20 years. She earned her MEd In School Counseling and Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. In 2019, she graduated with her EdD in Educational Leadership. Her dissertation title was “Staff Relationships and the Effect on Bullying as Perceived by Secondary Students.” She is passionate about the influence educators have on those they serve and ensuring they make the most of every opportunity. Dr. Slate is also a licensed by the State of Texas to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is an approved LPC Supervisor.
