Training for School Counselors During an interactive 3 hour session, participants will be given the opportunity to explore common areas of ethical concern for school counselors as it relates to the academic, social, emotional, and career needs of all students. Dr. Kristi Slate is an Associate Professor and School Counseling Program Coordinator at SAGU.  She has been a part of public education for almost 20 years.  She earned her MEd In School Counseling and Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University.  In 2019, she graduated with her EdD in Educational Leadership.  Her dissertation title was “Staff Relationships and the Effect on Bullying as Perceived by Secondary Students.”  She is passionate about the influence educators have on those they serve and ensuring they make the most of every opportunity.  Dr. Slate is also a licensed by the State of Texas to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and is an approved LPC Supervisor.
