Built by George Read II, the Read house is known for its outstanding design elements and is an exceptional example of woodworking. You're invited to join the IIDA Wilmington City Center for a tour of a historic house in Delaware! The Read House is in historic Old New Castle, DE. It was built by George Read II who is the son of one of the nation's founding fathers, George Read Sr. The house was known for its design elements of the time and one of the area's most exceptional examples of punch & gouge woodworking. Attendees will get a tour of the house and garden, followed by happy hour networking with refreshments and lite fare.
