All Star Labor and Staffing is looking for an experienced manual machinist, journeymen, or someone just out of tech or trade school. You can also fill out the application at Daily Tasks Include: • Set up and operate manual lathes, mill, hydraulic press, and other machinery. • Load work to machine and select correct speeds and feeds. • Maintain cutting tools profiles and sharpness specific to processing urethane i.e. parting tool, standard tool stock. • Ability to work off prints and/or written/verbal instructions. • Communicate effectively with Engineering, Leadership, and other team members. • Oil, lube, maintain, and calibrate machinery, compressors, and vacuum pumps. • Have the ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates. • Machine/remove customer urethane from shafts and hubs. • Machine production parts to specific tolerances. • Make simple molds for inhouse use. • Periodically adjust molds for the production team. Typical Machinery • Summit 19-4 Super 20 Lathe • Famot TUM-35D1 High-Speed Engine Lathe • Comet horizontal Mill • 50-ton hydraulic press for broaching keyways and slicing urethane • Ellis 10” Mitering Head Band Saw • Drill Press • Rubber Hog for grinding softer urethanes. Typical Materials Machined • Aluminum 75% Mild Steel 25% • Hard Urethanes 60% Soft Urethanes 40% Requirements • At least 2 Years machining experience or trade. More than 5 years is a plus. • Ability to independently operate lathes, mills, drill presses and other manual shop equipment. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to handle objects weighing up to 60lbs. • Experience reading technical drawing and sketch a reverse engineered part. • Proficiency in checking machining operation against specified tolerances using micrometers, calipers, or other precision measuring tools. • Understand and determine the order of operations for machining parts. • Desire to work with one company for a long period of time. • Aptitude to quality check machined parts for finish and dimensions. • Ability to reverse engineer one-offs. • Manufacture parts with the following attributes: concentricity, parallelism, and perpendicularity, while maintaining tight tolerances. • Reliable transportation. • Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm with occasional overtime. • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items.
