NEW YORK CITY — A familiar face will help Mayor Bill de Blasio drum up enthusiasm for young New Yorkers to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Dante de Blasio, the mayor's son, plans to ride the city's mobile "vaccine bus" across the boroughs.
"The vaccine is safe, effective, and easy to get, and the sooner we all get vaccinated, the sooner the city can get back to normal," he said Monday. "That's why over the next couple of weeks, I'm going to be going around in one of these elegant vaccination buses going across the city, talking to young New Yorkers and encouraging them to get vaccinated. So, keep an eye out in New York, I might be rolling up to a block near you."
The younger de Blasio isn't a stranger to making appearances for his father.
A then 15-year-old Dante de Blasio famously appeared in a campaign ad for his father's first campaign.
His latest appearance coincides with a push from city officials to get New Yorkers from Generation Z vaccinated.
Dante de Blasio said he'll be DJ-ing at stops, dropping Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B as artists he'll highlight.
