Beverly Awarded $171K In Grants For Airport, Climate Program

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Director of Grants Catherine Barrett is welcoming more than $170,000 in state and federal grants to go toward the operation of Beverly Airport and the Climate Resiliency Program run in collaboration with Salem. The airport was awarded a $65,000 grant from the state Department of Transportation for environmental compliance at the airport and a $57,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration for airport operations, cleaning and other coronavirus-related protocols. Airport Manager Gloria Bouillon was responsible for helping to secure the grants. The Metropolitan Area Planning Council also awarded the city $50,000 for the climate program with Salem for community outreach.
