HARRISON, NY — On Tuesday, voters will get the final say on proposed school budgets and property tax levies. Here's a quick guide to understanding the choices and making your voice heard at the polls. Voters will be asked to approve the Harrison School District's budget proposal. The proposed budget is $125,558,025 with a 1.73 percent increase over the 2020-21 spending package. School officials said the tax levy will increase by 1.89 percent if the budget is approved by voters on Tuesday. Two school board seats are available. Both candidates are incumbents: Kelly Kozak Dennis Di Lorenzo The spending plan calls for maintaining the current class size target of 22 students, the implementation of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program and the development of summer school programs to address learning gaps. The school board says it will also use the money to tackle a number of building improvement projects, including parking lot resurfacing and classroom renovations. The district has also outlined plans to expand the use of security cameras on school property.
