LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Three business around western Loudoun County were burglarized on Sunday night, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Now, the sheriff's office is working with other law enforcement agencies to determine whether the burglaries in Hamilton, Purcellville, and Leesburg are connected.
At 3 a.m. on Monday, the Leesburg Police Department responded to a "glass break alarm" for a business at 108 South Street, according to a police report. The business's front glass door was shattered, police said.
During an investigation, authorities determined that some items were disturbed and a "small amount of cash" was taken from the business, according to authorities.
Around 4 a.m. on Monday morning, the Purcellville Police Department responded to the 600 block of E. Main Street for a report of a robbery at the Purcellville Pharmacy. While officers were investigating the burglary at the pharmacy, they determined that the nearby Purcellville Cleaners was also burglarized, police said.
At 5 a.m., an employee at the Hamilton C Store reported hearing the store's alarm activate, authorities said. The employee said that the store was forcibly entered and a cash register was stolen.
At each of the businesses, the front glass doors were damaged to gain entry, according to a report from the sheriff's office.
