PRINCETON, NJ – Need to keep your kids busy this week? Well, we got you covered. Every week Patch will bring you a list of destinations, programs, and events to keep Princeton area families busy. Storytime Shorts, Princeton Public Library: Every Tuesday and Thursday, the Princeton Public Library hosts a "storytime" for families on their YouTube channel. This program is extremely popular, as it allows families to get together in a safe manner in the comfort of their homes. The sessions last 15 minutes at the most and are highly entertaining. Thursday Local Nights, Palmer Square: Every Thursday in May, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Palmer Square Princeton gives families an evening to shop, dine and stroll around to the sound of live music. There are retail promotions and specials available at stores and restaurants. Park at the Hulfish or Chambers Street Garages for $4 after 4 p.m. You can download the Palmer Square app to redeem rewards. Family Exploration Hike, Stony Brook on the Watershed Trail: Located in Pennington, the Watershed Institute gives families the opportunity to explore and learn about Stony Brook as it winds through the Watershed Reserve. The program is open to children 8 years and older. They get to learn about the ecology and the variety of plants and animals that live at the Watershed Reserve. This in-person program follows social distancing and masking rules. You can register here. National Bike Month, Family Exploration: May is National Bike Month, and Princeton is hosting a bunch of activities to encourage families to explore the township's bike routes. On Thursday, Silvia Ascarelli will be holding a virtual session on family-friendly rides to explore in Central Jersey. Princeton Pedestrian & Biking Advisory Committee has offered a helpful guide on loops and places to explore around the township. ArtWalk 2021: The West Windsor Arts Council is hosting ArtWalk 2021 this Saturday. Along a 1-mile family walk, there are activities, picnics, music, and more. Pick up craft items while walking the route, then return to the Arts Center to get your walk certificate. Families can make their crafts, eat their picnic lunch under tents, and groove to some music. Registration is $25 per family of up to four, children under 3 are free. For individuals, registration is $8 . Registration includes art activities and a completion certificate.
