Hillcrest's CityFest returns to Fifth Avenue this summer after a pause in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The 39th annual art and music festival is set for noon Aug. 8, extending south on Fifth from University Avenue.
The community festival will feature live bands, DJ's, a bar and beer garden, and more than 250 arts, crafts and food booths. Bands will hit the grand stage until 7 p.m., when they give way to headliner DJ's until 11 p.m.
Vendors have until July 8 for early registration.
Organizers call CityFest is "a celebration of our landmark Hillcrest sign, our residents and our businesses – who have been champions for equality, diversity, and inclusion in San Diego and beyond." They estimate that the event attracts more than 150,000 from San Diego and Southern California.
