LIVERMORE, CA — Local donors stepped up to help support the family of Soledad Gomez, an unhoused Livermore woman who died last month, and remembered her free spirit, smile and boundless love for her family. Gomez, 43, died suddenly in April, according to an online fundraising campaign on GoFundMe. She leaves behind her son, mother, sister and brother. Donors raised $1,200 for her family as of Monday afternoon. Organizers seek to raise $10,000. One donor remembered Soledad as a "beautiful spirit." Proceeds from the fundraiser will cover the cost of her funeral and burial expenses and help support her son, who is a student. "Just the littlest goes a long way in helping the family. If you can donate, please do," organizers wrote. "If not, please still keep them in your prayers. Every bit helps in more ways than you can imagine" Donate to the GoFundMe campaign here. GoFundMe is a Patch promotional partner.
