As a Drill Operator you will learn and complete:
How to maintain and repair a Directional Drill
How to set up for shots and operate drills during shots
Mixing ingredients for proper mud mixture for directional drilling
Loading, mobilizing, and unloading drilling equipment
How to properly plan and execute a directional bore path
How to properly read, set up, and coordinate traffic control plans
Understanding of down hole conditions, including identifying proper pressures, soil conditions, and potential frac out conditions
How to keep safe during live strike situations
As a Drill Operator are responsible for:
Ensuring minimum production levels
Prepping drill and truck for next days work at the end of each day
Maintaining cleanliness of directional drill, trailers, and truck
Working with Locator to translate instructions into actions of drill
Working with Crew Lead to determine daily projects
Maintaining Jobsite Safety
Crew wide tasks such as vehicle inventory, maintenance and cleanliness
Maintaining a Class A CDL and a clean driving record
Working with Laborers or Potholers as needed
As a Drill Operator you should be:
