South Bay Traffic Stop Leads To Police Finding 44 Pounds Of Drugs

MORGAN HILL, CA — Police discovered 44 pounds of marijuana, seven illegal firearms and ammunition at a storage unit after a traffic stop in Morgan Hill on May 6. William Regallo, a 45-year-old Alaska resident, was charged with DUI, possession of illegal drugs for sales, felon in possession of a firearm and multiple illegal weapons violations. In a news release on Monday, Morgan Hill police said they stopped Regallo on suspicion of DUI near the intersection of Monterey Road and Jarvis Drive. They later obtained a search warrant for a storage facility that they believed to be connected to Regallo after a search of his car revealed a large sum of cash and they learned that he was coming from the storage facility, according to police. Officers seized the contraband and weapons in the storage facility.
