Hey all- I am heartbroken but need to rehome my dog lucy. She is older, almost 9. Up to date on shots, spayed etc. She has been through beginning-advanced obedience training. We adopted her from a troubled home a few years ago so she has a lot of anxiety. She is extremely protective- would make a great guard dog. She should not be in the home with small children or pets, preferably pretty mellow. She is a big girl, 80 lbs. Greyhound and rhodiasian ridgeback mix. I wont give her to pound due to her age and special requirements. People around her need to be confident and not anxious around dogs. She needs further behavior training and a patient person who understands this will be a hard adjustment.
I am rehoming due to the fact she is unpredictable around our smaller dogs (resource guarding mostly, but not with food, random objects). I am nervous to have my kids friends come over as she is so protective, which is both great and not. I cannot afford private in home dog training for her anxiety.
She is loving, cuddly, loves laying around and in bed, looooooves the water and dog parks. She would be the perfect dog for a very particular family and i need to know that she goes to the right one.
