OHIO — Ohioans will no longer need to wear masks while shopping at Target, the company announced. Fully vaccinated shoppers and employees will not be required to wear masks while at a Target store, the company said. The policy changes follow new guidance released this last by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Ohio's statewide mask mandate will officially be lifted on June 2, though many retailers are getting ahead of the curve by announcing their future plans. Target will continue to "strongly recommended" masks for customers and employees who are not fully vaccinated. The retail giant says it will still enforce social distancing and "increased cleaning" at the stores will continue. Target is offering COVID-19 vaccine appointments at nearly all CVS at Target locations for guests and team members. We're also providing paid time to U.S. hourly team members when they get their vaccines and free Lyft rides, up to $15 each way, for our team to get to and from their appointments. COVID-19 vaccine appointments are still available at most of the CVS stores located inside Target stores, according to the company. Target is offering free Lyft rides for employees to get to their vaccine appointment. More reading: Costco, Walmart, Publix: U.S. Stores Drop Masks For Vaccinated
