Skilled Carpenter (Wasilla) $500 Sign-On Bonus!!! Alaskan family-owned Construction/Restoration Company serving Alaska communities for 49 years, is currently interviewing Mat-Su based Skilled Carpenter. What we do We are a construction/restoration company that restores homes & commercial properties after disasters such as fire, wind, earthquake and water and mold damage. We also do home improvement, residential and commercial remodels, additions and many other services. We occasionally work in rural locations in Alaska as needed. We offer emergency services 24 hours per day. Our employees work on a rotation schedule for after-hours but could be called in when not on call for larger emergencies. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Requirements • 3-5 years working experience in multiple phases of construction – majority of work will be interior finish including drywall and paint. Experience in other phases of construction such as framing, flooring, insulation, etc. helpful. Experience working on fire & water restoration jobs a plus. • Must participate in the on-call rotation for our emergency services. (on-site response after disaster to board up fires, door kick-ins, etc. These calls come in 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions from Lead Carpenters, Production Managers, Estimators, and Branch Manager. • Must be safety focused. We provide all safety gear and all employees are required to use it. • Must provide own tools and insured vehicle for work (proof of insurance to be maintained with the office) • Current driver licenses with no more than 3 driving infractions in the last 3 years. • Ability to work well as a team as well as independently. • Must pass post-offer drug screen (heroin, amphetamines, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine) • Must pass post-offer background screening. Due to insurance contract requirements, candidates with felony convictions will not be considered. Any other convictions will need to be discussed with Human Resource Director for contract compliance. Compensation/Benefits • $500 sign-on bonus to be paid out on first paycheck (bonus agreement required) • Hourly wage based on skills/knowledge base. • Year-round employment.
