Grace Church of Chehalis WA is looking for a part time Custodian for the cleaning of our Church building (at least) two nights a week. You will be in the building alone (most of the time), cleaning the whole building from top to bottom. Hours: Approximately 15 hours a week, cleaning after ministries are completed, off regular business hours. Days: Friday (or Saturday Night) and Sunday night (or Monday night) with opportunities for occasional extra projects. Overall big picture job discretion • Assist in the effectiveness and success of the ministries at Grace Church. • Ensure the cleanliness, safety and tidiness of Grace church. If something not in specified falls in to one of these three areas apply, (look, see, do). • Keep confidences of any and all sensitive material including but not limited to personal counseling, budget, financial information, etc. (e.g. no gossiping or divulging any information seen or hear at Grace church regarding the church, staff, members, attenders or guests. Position Purpose: Provide cleaning and maintenance of church building on a consistent bases. Major Duties and Responsibilities: • Assure the building are maintained in a clean and orderly manner including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, and washing windows. • Provide minor general assistance as needed through setting up chairs, tables as well as stacking and putting away tables and chairs as requested by staff. • Assures the collection and disposal of garbage and recycling waste. • Maintains an inventory of supplies for cleaning and orders supplies as requested. • Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required to function as a Custodian. This is accomplished through onsite training and cooperation with our staff. General Responsibilities: • Maintain accurate record of hours worked and turn in timesheets on schedule. • Contribute to and support a positive, team-oriented work environment. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. • Should be able to adjust cleaning levels based on activity level and usage of the building as directed by the supervisor. • Maintain the security of the building by locking doors and not allowing extra people into the building. Minimum Qualifications: • Experience and or training in building janitorial services. • Knowledge of the use of janitorial supplies and chemicals, safety protocols for use of chemicals, and infection control principles. • Work History which demonstrates reliability and dependability. • Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing. • Ability to support and uphold the mission, beliefs, and values of Grace Church of Chehalis. • Must be able to lift 50 pounds. • Must be able to pass a background and drug screening.
