Job Description: Hose & Belt Technician, Parts Counter Sales Upson Maybach is a fabricator and distributor of Gates hydraulic and industrial hose and fittings, industrial timing and v belts, and a fabricator and distributor of conveyor belts. Candidates without experience but are mechanically inclined are encouraged to apply. Hose & Belt Technicians are a critical part of our organization. Technicians perform all manufacturing and fabrication of our hoses and belts to meet our customers' specifications. The position is based out of Batavia, NY in a warehouse. Commitment to all company policies, including attendance and safety are essential. Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and clean driving abstract are also required. Compensation includes hourly pay, overtime opportunities, health benefits, company matching 401k, paid vacation. Reports to: · Hose & Belt Fabrication Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Daily in person interaction with customers who bring their old hoses and belts to be evaluated · Identify customers broken hoses, fittings, or belts and build them a new replacement while they wait · Use hand and power tools and equipment to crimp and assemble hoses according to procedure · Use hand, power tools, and equipment to cut, shape, splice, and fit various conveyor belting materials / fabricate conveyor belts · Pull/pick customer orders and perform receiving · Calculate material usage and waste for each order · Accurately measure accurately and assemble composite materials on patterns to form parts and assemblies using bonding agents and equipment · Prepare and mix various glues and bonding cements · Adhere, grind, and finish custom rubber and foam coverings · Operate a forklift · Inspect manufactured products for defects and conformance to specifications and quality standards through instruments and visual verification · Wrap and package products for shipping or storage · Operate various shipping computer programs (email, UPS, etc.) · Maintain a clean and organized work area · Follow all safety rules and regulations · Any other duties as assigned Education and Experience: · Minimum of a high school education · Required to read and write English, follow verbal and written instructions and use basic math. · Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Physical Demands: · Required to drive company vehicles and forklift · Required to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. · Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about the facility · Exposed to shop elements such as dirt, oils, greases, dust, etc. Work Environment: · Use of a company van for pick-up and delivery of parts or raw materials to/from our suppliers and customers · Work performed in a combination of shop / field service work environments · Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils Pay: • Hourly rate based on experience plus benefits including 401k, medical insurance, paid vacation Work Hours: • Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM • Overtime opportunities • Opportunities for advancement Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
