Job Description The Floor Care Technician is responsible for providing hands on support to staff and programs within Facility Services Group, Inc. Facility Services Group, Inc. is a full-service commercial flooring solutions provider offering sustainable and environmentally friendly carpet and floor care, maintenance, cleaning, and specialty floor coatings. The Floor Care Technician will support the Lead Floor Care Technician and Operation Manager and all the other program, systems, and overall activities that fall under Facility Services Group, Inc. including taking responsibility for the overall success of each project, by pre-planning and direct involvement on-site. Job Description Responsible for maintaining and restoring carpet, upholstery, and hard surface floors, and applying coatings using manufacturer approved methods in areas that include (but not limited to) offices, schools, hospitals, lobbies, entrances, restrooms, stairwells, and other public areas such as cafeterias. Specific tasks are not guaranteed, therefore, must be flexible in performing assigned duties as outlined below: REQUIREMENTS: PHYSICAL DEMANDS The FCT position demands good physical and mental health. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the FCT to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the FCT member is regularly required to stand. The FCT is frequently required to walk. The FCT is occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The FCT must frequently lift and/or move up to between 50 and 75 pounds. The FCT must move continuously during work hours and will frequently be required to kneel down and work close to floor surface. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Hours of work Majority of this type of work is performed Monday through Friday after 5PM and any time on Saturday and Sunday. There could be times when working during the day shift Monday through Friday will be required. You must be able to commit to a very flexible work schedule. Education High School diploma or general education degree (GED) Language Skills Effective communication is very important in this role. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members of organization in English. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Abilities Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Driving Ability to safely drive a cargo van or a box truck. Minimum age to drive company vehicle is 21 years of age. Must have a clean and acceptable driving record. Determination of clean and acceptable will be based on a review of the record with the insurance company. Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
