Cable Handling and Turning on Ship RATE $ 17.00 Day Shift RATE $ 18.70 Night Shift Cable Handling & Assembly (CHA) Ship Call Brendan 617-510-5261 Position Overview A CHA Tradesperson 3 completes tasks associated with the manufacturing and handling of cable and equipment. This includes but is not limited to turning cable in a tank/pan, putting cable on the reel, and assisting with loading cable and its components in the facility and onto a ship. Responsibilities & Qualifications Responsibilities: · Handles and loads cable in tanks, pans, or reels using associated equipment as required. · Perform first level visual inspection, identify errors and report issues to appropriate personnel. · Follows verbal and written instruction and is accountable for his/her actions. · Follows safety guidelines and demonstrates safe work practices. · A Safety and Quality conscious attitude with emphasis towards a team environment. · Promotes job and process improvement as it relates to the department. · Must learn a variety of production processes and respond to multiple assignments in a timely and efficient manner. · Must learn and perform a variety of manufacturing tasks safely and proficiently. Qualifications: · High School diploma or general education degree (GED), required. One year or related experience and/or training, preferable. · Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. · Possess the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. · Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments. · Must be able to work any shift. · Must be available to work overtime, when requested. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to pass a “Fit for Duty” physical exam. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: • Climb up and down from equipment. • Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds. • Climb up and down a ladder and work at heights. • Able to manipulate small hand tools. • Ability to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, or handle objects, tools and controls. • Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs regularly. • Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently. • Ability to talk and/or hear frequently. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors regularly in all elements. • Ability to work at heights. • Ability to enter into confined space.
