ISO: puppy/dog for forever home and company for stay at home mom

I own my own home with a lot of land. summers spent at our camp on the water. no other dogs in our home but would be around them in social settings. we have a child under 1 and 2 cats. i need a partner in crime to keep me company and be part of the family. i would prefer a breed that doesn't follow their nose I would really like a dog that sticks around and not have to worry about taking off. willing to train because I do have the time.
