We have an exciting opportunity for you to support the upcoming City Elections on Tuesday, June 22nd 2021.
The Opportunity
The Civic Engagement Commission is providing interpretation services on Election Day and we are seeking individuals to serve as supervisors, overseeing interpreters working for the Early Voting and Election Day Interpretation Program. Each supervisor will oversee approximately 6 to 10 interpreters stationed at poll sites across New York.
Supervisors will:
Work from 5 am to 10 pm on Early Voting days and Election Day
Complete a training session
Assist with site set-up and breakdown
Schedule breaks and coordinate voting schedules for interpreters
Travel to assigned poll sites multiple times throughout the day
Ensure interpreters at assigned sites are filling out data forms correctly; collect data from interpreters using smartphone
Troubleshoot any issues at sites or with interpreters; communicate effectively and regularly with other project staff to share information and resolve issues
As Supervisor you will be paid $24 per hour.
Requirements
At least two years of professional experience, preferably in a supervisory role or a role involving customer service;
Excellent customer service skills. Prior customer service experience preferred;
Excellent judgement;
Excellent attention to details;
Ability to meet physical requirements of the job - including working a long day, moving to different locations throughout the day;
Strong verbal and Interpersonal communication skills as well as ability to work both individually an as part of a team;
Must have a Smartphone.
