L.A. Custom Grill Islands is Hiring general laborers to help build outdoor BBQ islands and fire place/pits. We are located at 1430 Arrow Hwy Irwindale, CA 91104 Must have a vehicle and a valid driver License and Social Security card or work Visa – although a majority of the manufacturing will be performed at our shop, on rare occasions, you will be required to drive to a job site where your work hours will begin and end on the job site. This is a Full-time job (40 hours a week) with the opportunity for Overtime 2-week training (not 60 day trial period). Paid Training. Entry level starting pay $15.00/hr with a $1 increase after 60-day trial period. DUE TO COVID-19, NEW HIRES THAT ARE NOT VACCINATED ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR PROVIDED FACE COVERING THE FIRST 2 WEEKS OF EMPLOYEMENT. General duties: • Clean and organize shop at end of work day • Follow & understand our layouts and measurements and work from verbal instructions • Cutting different building material • Assembling material to build BBQ islands / Fire pits • Receiving incoming shipment, label shipments with customer info and place in storage • We will train for hand stuccoing and machine blown stucco procedures • At times, heavy lifting up to 95lbs – assisting with carrying granite slab and installing, lifting partially finished island and placing on dollies, lifting bags of concrete • Other duties may be assigned. Experience: • Knowledge of Power Tools and how to read a Tape Measure • Basic mathematical Skills (Using a tape measure, adding & subtracting material thickness) • Good written and oral communication skills. • Good Customer service skills. • Some Electrical knowledge a plus • Some concrete/cement work knowledge a plus (must be able to carry 90lb bag of Cement) • Knowledge with metal studs & framing material a plus Work hours (30 min lunchbreak & 2 Paid 15 min breaks): • Shop hours 8am to 4:30 pm. • Job site hours may extend longer than an 8-hour work day. • Overtime pay after 40 hours • 6 paid holidays (New Years day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas) • 3 paid personal days (after 60 day trial period) Send your resume or Come in and fill out an application.
