Bassist looking for like-minded laid-back people to play fun music with. What is "fun music" to me? If you are into Scary Pockets, Pomplamoose, Post Modern Jukebox - that describes it. A mix of pop, jazz, funk, latin, all mixed up in a tongue-in-cheek way and turned inside out. A bit about me: - amateur musician; - into music for the fun of it, not $$ (don't mind getting paid though, if it happens once in blue moon); - primary instrument: bass guitar (fretted, fretless; 5+ strings); can do some basic upright. Some guitar, keys, but not really at a star level; - charts/theory all in place; not Berklee College, but gets me by in pick-up jazz jams; - musical interests: see above. Rock is fine, too - elements, I guess; - musical turn-offs: being confined to one genre; - full-time day job - can only rehearse in PM; - based in Brooklyn; - have my own gear. A word on "being in a band": band is fine, just not in a sense "you play with us and no one else". Give me a shout if interested.
