A reunion and hog roast event for Sterling graduates from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and their families. FOLKLORE:Long ago and far away in a land almost forgotten, there was a group of boys. These were good boys…mostly. Although none had any particular musical skills, nor could they carry a tune in a bucket, this group called themselves the Boys in the Band. One thing they WERE good at was having fun. Thus, the idea for The Boys in the Band Hog Roast was conceived. Oral folklore suggests this tradition occurred on an annual basis during the late seventies and early eighties for seven to eight years…but who really knows for sure? During a recent conversation with a couple of these “Boys”, who were in their flannel pajamas at 9PM, the idea was “floated” to “party one more time”. As you might suspect, this event could be a little more tame then those which occurred almost forty years ago, but, we could all certainly enjoy seeing friends, eating some great food and listening to music from local artists. We are not quite sure at this time, but you might even get a chance at karaoke. FAQS:WHERE: Sterling, Kansas WHEN: Labor Day Weekend, September 4 & 5 COST: The cost for attendance is $20 per head. This will include Saturday night dinner, setups and participation in special events. You will not be guaranteed participation without advanced payment. There is a limited amount of space.
