As a Black woman watching the Derek Chauvin trial all week has become emotionally exhausting. Let’s gather and share so we can heal together
As a Black woman watching the Derek Chauvin trial all this week has been overwhelmingly emotionally draining. 😓
Hearing about every detail
and
viewing all the pictures and videos taken on the fatal day,
May 25, 2020,
has been painfully heart breaking.
I’ve cried every day.
Although, taking in all this pain daily I know is hard on me however, I withstand the discomfort and hurt because
I know that what I’ve been going through ALL WEEK
is nothing compared to the NINE MINUTES AND TWENTY-NINE SECONDS
George endured as he lay dying
on the cold hard concrete
in the public street
as his peers watched him in fear and in hopelessness
take his last shallow breaths
while Derek Chauvin’s knee
pressed sharply
on his bare NECK 😭 😡
What I’ve experienced this week being an eye witness to the horrific details of my brother’s death,
is utter pain and dismay
because I see I STILL live in a country that’ll justify its murderous ways against us, by any means necessary. 😡 😡
