St. Andrew's 5th Annual Steeple Run is set for June 26th beginning at 10:00 a.m. St. Andrews UMC of Valley View along with the Flying Aces M.C. - Schuylkill County Chapter will be hosting its 5th Annual Steeple Run on June 26th, 2021. A Steeple Run is similar to a Poker Run in that participants will make several stops along a designated route and collect entry tickets into a prize drawing at the end of the event. This year’s run will begin at St. Andrew’s UMC, making stops at area churches along the way. The final destination will be at the Valley View Park, Valley View, PA. At the park there will be two prize drawings (adult and child), silent auction, and picnic provided. The desire is to have a successful event to be able to support the needs of the community currently and in years to come. This year’s Steeple Run will benefit Keith Long and Rose & Willis Morgan. Keith, a lifelong resident of the Tri-valley region was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in November 2020 and has undergone several weeks of treatments, which required daily trips to Geisinger throughout the first quarter of 2021 while continuing to work. He currently remains under the care of his doctors as they monitor his condition. Willis was diagnosed with cancer in his right kidney in 2019 which required surgery and months of recovery. He underwent chemotherapy for Cancer in his left side and battled blood infections in 2020 and continues regular trips to Geisinger for monitoring. Rose required bladder surgery in 2020 and in 2021 was diagnosed with Colon Cancer which required surgery. She continues recovery at home with regular trips to Pottsville for monitoring.
