Hi! We're Kristin and Catherine, co-owners of The Hive. Our business is a coffee and retail shop with a mission to foster community, welcome all, and be an inclusive, creative space for our neighbors to gather. We built our business on the basis of serving incredible coffees, teas, and treats, while curating incredible products for our guests to discover. And tucked within the back of the shop is a small and tastefully designed playspace for young children to explore under the supervision of their grown-up caregiver. We are hiring for all part-time and full-time shifts in our shop on Tenth Street and Park Avenue in Hoboken. We're looking for someone who loves coffee, thrives working with others, has a strong work ethic, and knows how to make every customer feel welcomed. Responsibilities include: Deliver the very best experience to every customer, with a friendly and community-oriented vibe.Answer customer questions confidently regarding ingredientsTake orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)Prepare and serve beverages and foodAssist with setup, cleanup, stock work, and other store-related tasksReceive and process payments (cash and credit cards) Keep the bar area cleanMaintain stock of clean mugs and platesCheck if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needsComply with health and safety regulationsAnswer questions about retail products. Assist with restocking shelves, as requested.Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu itemsBe able and willing to work early morning, afternoon, and/or weekend shifts, as needed Why you're right for this job: You don't sweat the small stuff. Requirements: High school diploma or GEDPast experience in coffee or hospitality industriesA strong background in customer serviceMust be legally able to work in the U.S. Physical requirements: Job requires long hours on your feet.Repeated motions with hands and wrists (e.g. pulling shots, steaming milk, pouring drinks, etc.) Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour + tips
