Description
I have always been a conservative, voted in my first presidential race in 1980, for Ronald Reagan. I have always been against "illegal" immigrants. I have no issue with anyone coming into this great country as long as they do it the legal way. With that being said, I watched the news a few nights ago and saw a family of 5 coming across the Rio Grande illegally. I saw a Sheriff and his deputies come to the aide of these people, 3 of which were children. At that moment, tears welled up in my eyes. I get it now. We are the greatest country in the world, even though the left tells us everything about America is wrong. If the left gets their way, America will become a socialist nation. If America is so bad, why are flocking here? If we become a socialist country, we will no longer be free, we will be governed like countries such as Cuba, Venezuela, China, North Korea and many more. The people of these countries are existing on what the government allows them to have. Though conservative, I could not turn anyone away who is fleeing in hopes of a better life. Maybe we should all rethink immigration. But, we must also do what it takes to preserve our constitution and our great nation.
