Description
Owen is an 8 month old Lemon Blue Amerecauna rooster. He is quite large for his age and still growing.
He is the biggest rooster we’ve ever had and unfortunately his large size is causing harm to the hens. We originally purchased him as a sexed female chick back in September and after months of waiting for a blue egg, we got crowing instead! We didn’t anticipate having another rooster, but we didn’t want to give up either. The last few months have been especially hard on two hens he targets quite often each day and it’s becoming a health/safety problem at this point.
He does fine with kids, horses, dogs, adults and other roosters. He handles well and is not aggressive. His spurs are about half grown right now. We can pick him up, hold him, pet him, and even kiss him. We love him dearly but we can’t risk the overall well-being of the ladies. His just too big of a boy!
Serious inquiries only please. He’s a great rooster and very successful at breeding. We want him to be happy and would like for him to go to a family that has adequate space for him and knows how to care for chickens properly. He is NOT a meat chicken. He is a pet and is free to the right home.
