I'm putting feelers out to see if there are visual artists in the Belleville and surrounding areas who'd want to gather regularly to create an artistic community and help each other's studio practices. I'm looking for people who make work to sell, exhibit in galleries, publish, or are in academic programs. Folks who like to doodle once in a blue moon or art-as-therapy folks probably wouldn't get as much out of this. It would be great to make friends with people who care about their craft, are frustrated by working in isolation, and love to talk shop with other artists. Activities could include: - regular gatherings to bring work for discussion and critique - work days where we "introvert together" and bring projects to work on - visit each other's studios for show and tell, demos, and inspiration - organized visits to local/regional art exhibits - reading groups Open to this taking whatever shape that a group of artists might want. Email me if interested and if there's a quorum I'll send out something on a group level.
