I’m an older guitarist/bassist/vocalist seeking a project or collaboration. I’m specifically looking to break out of the bottom feeder classic rock modern country box. But the project needs to be accessible enough to the common man (and woman) that the band could actually get a booking once in a while. Artful covers work. Quality tasteful originals are also good. Stylistically, I’ve been stripping things down to the bare minimum. I adore the sound of unadorned cleanish strats. I lean toward jazz at times, but I’m not interested in playing bebop. Mostly, I’d like to play music I can be reasonably proud of, with folks that I get along with decently well in front of people from time to time. Money isn’t the most important thing, but free gigs suck most of the time. My influences are diverse but I don’t necessarily play exactly like any of these folks. I just lean that direction at times. Most recently, I get the “you sound just like Knopfler” comment a lot, even though I'm not trying to necessarily do that. I value sincerity, commitment and reliability a lot.
