Come and hear Dr. Charles Silver recount the powerful story of his family's experiences during the Holocaust in World War II, how they reconnected after the war, and their life in America. This lecture will be held in the Frisco Heritage Center Depot, 6499 Page St. Charles Silver, an infant survivor of the Holocaust, was born in 1942 in a ghetto at the height of the extermination of the Jews in Europe. He, a cousin and an uncle were hidden by a courageous Polish Catholic woman and then adopted from an orphanage. Less than 1% of Polish Jewish children survived the war. Charles' parents survived many concentration camps, including Auschwitz. The family was reunited and immigrated to the United States in 1949. Dr. Silver served as a medical officer with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam from 1971-72.
