Description

REMIXEcology is hosting not 1 but 2 hikes for Mental Health Awareness Month! Join us on 5/16 or 5/22 REMIXEcology is leading a pathway to peace in nature. Join us for Mental Health Awareness Month as we take a guided walk through the Woodlands Preserve, a coastal forest in Belle Chasse featured in our “Big Easy Hiking Guide” which is accessible within 30 minutes of downtown New Orleans. We will hike a 2.5 mile section of this wildflower lined trail and view historic World War II Ammunition bunkers. We will open time for rest and mindful practices before hiking back the path to conclude by 11:30am. Nature provides a restorative environment to recharge our mind, body, and spirit. Resilience is a key aspect of mental health that benefits us throughout our days. This May gives us the opportunity to break free of stressors and relax and recharge in nature. We advise limiting cell phone use while on the trail to allow you to recover from stimulants. We hope to see you on the trail as we connect with ourselves and nature in a safe and inclusive environment. FAQs What should I expect? This is a beginner hike on a flat dirt/gravel trail.
