Press release from the Town of Concord: May 10, 2021 The Bruce Freeman Rail Trail (BFRT) Advisory Committee invites Concord residents of all ages to help conduct a baseline trail count of trail users at three locations along the trail in Concord during the week of May 17th. Coordinating with other trails around the Commonwealth, this trail count effort is being done to establish the baseline numbers of BFRT trail users in Concord before the bridge over Route 2 is completed in the summer of 2022. To sign up for a specific date and time, please visit the Boston Region MPO Central Transportation Planning Staff web page at https://www.ctps.org/bike_ped_count_1. Trail counts will be conducted at two times over three weekdays and one time each weekend day. The weekday counts will be conducted on Tuesday through Thursday, May 18th to 20th from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. then again from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. An additional count will be done on Thursday, May from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Weekend counts will be done on May 22nd and 23rd from noon to 2:00 p.m. The three locations are: Nashoba Brook bridge, Route 62/Main Street near the bike repair station and at Powder Mill Road. This effort is being coordinated and supported by the Friends of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail, the BFRT Advisory Committee and the Boston Region MPO Central Transportation Planning Staff.
