Join PAEA Region 4 and make a sculptural book for the Solidarity Book Project.
During this in-person workshop, participants will make a sculptural book for the Solidarity Book Project initiated by artist Sonya Clark. We will start with an introduction to the artwork of Sonya Clark, followed by a discussion of the Solidarity Book Project she is leading in collaboration with Amherst College. There will then be a demonstration of how to make the sculptural solidarity book, with the remaining time spent on making the sculpture. Participants will need to bring a book that has taught you something about solidarity, that is at least 280 pages in length, a pencil and a pair of scissors.
Optional tools: a bone folder and ruler
Parking is available in the side lot that faces the side of Weis Market. More information on location will be sent to participants prior to the event. Please, bring your mask.
Participants will receive 2 hours of Act 48 credit.
