From the Iowa Capital Dispatch: May 15, 2021 Drivers and other staff members of the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) line up at a drive-through testing site for COVID-19 at DART's operations center. (Photo courtesy of DART) The state of Iowa is expanding access to COVID-19 testing with four new testing sites opening this week, including one in Dallas County. The Dallas County drive-through site opens today, June 8, at noon and is located at South Middle School, 2350 SE LA Grant Parkway, Waukee. Individuals must have already completed the assessment at testiowa.com and scheduled an appointment in order to be tested. Three other clinic-based sites will open this week and will serve Union, Carroll and Crawford counties. The clinic sites represent partnerships between the state and local health care providers. The clinics provide staffing for the sites, while the state provides both the on-site testing supplies and the processing of the tests by the State Hygienic Lab. The new clinic-based sites are: • Union County: Greater Regional Health, 801 Wyoming Ave., Creston, opening today, June 8. • Carroll County: St. Anthony Regional Hospital, 311 South Clark St., Carroll, opens Wednesday, June 10. • Crawford County: St. Anthony Clinic, 1820 4th Ave S., Denison, opens Wednesday, June 10. In Page County, a new clinic-based testing site opened last week at Clarinda Regional Health Center, 220 Essie Davison Dr., Clarinda. As with the Dallas County drive-up site, individuals who wish to be tested at a clinic site must first complete the online assessment at testiowa.com, be approved, and then call the clinic of their choice to schedule an appointment. The locations and hours of operation for all test sites can be found at testiowa.com or coronavirus.iowa.gov.
