Press release from the City of St. Louis Park:
May 14, 2021
In accordance with new mask guidance announced May 13 by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Gov. Tim Walz announced he is signing an executive order effective May 14, 2021, ending the statewide mask mandate.
The City of St. Louis Park's emergency ordinance requiring face coverings in St. Louis Park, which had been superseded by a state executive order July 25, 2020, is no longer in effect and will not be renewed. The city will continue to follow executive orders issued by the governor and COVID-19 guidance provided by the Minnesota Department of Health and CDC. Effective May 14, residents visiting city facilities – including city hall, The Rec Center and Westwood Hills Nature Center – are no longer required to wear face coverings. Private businesses may still require face coverings, and patrons should follow those requirements as they visit establishments and facilities in St. Louis Park. It's recommended that those who are not fully vaccinated should continue to wear face coverings indoors. COVID-19 vaccines are now available to residents ages 12 and over, visit https://mn.gov/covid19/vaccine/index.jsp to learn more and sign up.
