Press release from the City of Phoenix: May 14, 2021 12:20 PM This annual event recognizes and honors the outstanding achievements of students and their positive contributions to society.   Eighteen students that live in Phoenix or attend Phoenix schools were selected from more than one hundred applicants as the 2021 OYMYW of the year.  Each district winner receives $500 and is eligible to become the citywide winner. The two overall winners are awarded an additional $1,500.  Each student applied for the award by submitting a nomination form, essay, recommendation letter, and also took part in selection interviews.
