O&G Studio is seeking a full-time Production Assistant in our Parts Department to help with the execution wood parts for production orders. Our ideal candidate is an organized, motivated, and capable woodworker interested in working to a high standard in a production environment. Must be willing to learn, follow systems, and work closely with others on a wide variety of tasks. Basic woodworking experience required. Daily work looks like selecting material for seats, gluing up blanks, operating CNC router, profiling seats, and sanding. Responsibilities on the lathe include selecting materials for orders, setting up templates, running batches of parts, and sanding turned parts. This is an opportunity to work with a cooperative team focused on putting out high quality product in an efficient workspace. The Production woodworker within Parts Department position is a 8-hour / day (40 hour/ week) position Dental and Health plan eligible Responsibilities: - Lumber Selection for Parts - Operate Machinery including, Jointer, Planer, Tablesaw, Bandsaw, Lathe, Chopsaw - Operating hydraulic copy lathe - Operating CNC router machine - Self-managed work-flow - Adhere to production schedules - Accepting lumber and material deliveries Requirements: - Inclination towards technical information and details - Basic woodworking experience, knowledge of good glue joints, surfacing and joining materials - Cooperative and follow through of directives - Positive energy and strong organizational skills - Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects with minimal supervision - Precision and attention to detail - Care and pride in quality output - Mechanical knowledge and ability to maintain equipment - Must be able to safely handle material up to 75lbs Reporting: Parts Department reports to: Parts Lead – Daily work goals and priorities, workflow, training, inventory, training Floor Manager and Production Manager – Training and information regarding orders, departmental goals.
