The Waston organization is a General Construction Company based in Philadelphia PA as a Minority Business Enterprise/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (MBE/DBE) Contractor that operates in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Atlanta, Georgia. Our company is a fully licensed and certified MBE/DBE General Contractor. PRIMARY FUNCTION Provide overall management direction for assigned project group and develop new business opportunities relative to a particular client or group of clients. Construction project managers are responsible for ensuring the timely and costly completion of construction projects by overseeing all phases of the project. This entails working with a variety of stakeholders to schedule and plan work, coordinate equipment and materials, operate within budget and monitor overall progress. Construction project managers are oftentimes at the construction site for much of the workweek. TYPICAL DUTIES 1. Follow and implement establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy, including all project-level administration and documentation. 2. Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts to facilitate construction activities. 3. Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures. 4. Monitor compliance with the company's safety program. 5. Establish scope and award data toward generation and negotiation of subcontract agreements. Review contracts and contract language with executive management prior to execution. 6. Tailor and review subcontract template with executive management prior to issuance. Also, review any requested modifications to subcontract with executive management prior to agreeing to changes. 7. Represent the company in project meetings, strategy meetings, etc. 8. Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, change orders, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect the company's interest and simultaneously maintain a good relationship with clients. 10. Generate and maintain Project CPM and Milestone schedules and update the schedules on monthly basis. Insert schedule impacts as they occur at the site and document the impacts relative to schedule durations and financial impacts. Continually monitor the schedule and profitability of assigned project(s) and initiate corrective action immediately when problems arise. 11. Responsible for coordination of all safety and quality aspects of the project. Interface and oversight of the team members who are specifically assigned these responsibilities. 12. Responsible for training and continued development of those reporting to the position. 13. Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives. Qualifications for Construction Project Manager - Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture 5-7 years of experience in project management within the construction - Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings - Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software - Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles - Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs - High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions Strong leadership and management skills Please Apply below with your resume.
