I’m searching for musicians and artists that are interested in joining and developing an Art-Pop Super Group with funk/dance/hip hop influences. My musical influences include bands like Earth Wind and Fire, Outkast, Rick James, Janelle Monáe, Tyler The Creator’s IGOR, SOPHIE. BROCKHAMPTON, Malo, Anderson.Paak etc. etc. I’m 27, Chicano, I studied film production and philosophy in school and am now planning to channel those interests into music. I’m mostly focusing on vocals and keyboard but I play bass as well. I’m looking to collaborate with people that like pop and funk music and are willing to experiment with cinematic ideas. I’m hoping to grow this project into a dramatic and theatrical, multi-faceted live experience (as well as make albums/music videos/etc.) I’m interested in writing music that revolves around themes of existentialism, eastern philosophy, identity, and race/gender politics, but is sonically groovy and catchy. Happy to work with anyone, but primarily hoping to collaborate with BIPOC folks roughly my age or older. Hoping to first contact people who play any of the following: drums, guitar, bass, keyboard, Background VOX, trumpet, saxophone, horns in general, percussion.
