This event is an informal, question-and-answer forum on foster care and what it means to the community. May is National Foster Care Month. To spread awareness of foster care in the North Country, CHJC (Children's Home of Jefferson County) is partnering with local organizations to host the Foster Care Awareness Forum. This event offers attendees a unique opportunity to speak with community leaders about foster care and how it impacts the North Country. Anyone who engages with youth and families enrolled in the foster care system is encouraged to attend. The forum will feature representatives from event partners including the North Country Regional Center for Independent Living (NCRIL), Jefferson County Department of Social Services (JCDSS), House of the Good Shepherd (HGS), and New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).To accommodate the greatest number of attendees, two sessions are scheduled. The first session will be held at 11:30 am and the second at 4:00 pm. Both will be held in CHJC’s Campus Dining Hall, 1704 State Street, Watertown. All current COVID-19 pandemic protocols will be in place.
