KWBF Manifestl Workshop and Tour
Women learn: Don't be seen. Don't get in the way. Don’t take up space. But as a cyclist, if you don’t counter that indoctrination, you’re putting yourself at risk. In road riding, being seen is the difference between life or death. So how do we create a culture that supports women's visibility? On this bicycle tour, we'll visit several outdoor public murals in Midtown and Uptown Kingston to gather inspiration as we consider what it means to take up space. The ride finishes with a workshop to co-create guiding principles for a KWBF vision and manifesto. The tour is outdoors, in person, on bicycles, with Spanish interpretation. COVID safety precautions will be followed. Please wear a helmet. Open to all ages and genders, the tour and workshop are free. If you would like to borrow a bicycle for the tour, please email: [email protected]
