Description

Working Cats Will Keep Your Barn/Workshop/Outdoor Garage Varmint-Free! Summer is around the corner and mice and other varmints are looking for a place to stay cool!... In your barn, in your workshop, in your outdoor garage, maybe even in your RVs and campers. Instead of using costly and dangerous chemical pest control, save a life instead! Midwest Community Cat Alliance helps find homes for cats in local high-kill animal control facilities in Southeast Missouri, St. Louis, and some surrounding rural counties. Periodically we find cats that would not do well in a traditional home. These are working cats, former street cats, that are used to outdoor life. They prefer minimal to no human contact but will happily tend to your mouse/shrew/mole problem. These cats work well in barns, garages, workshops, wineries, breweries, and warehouses. They have nowhere else to go and will be euthanized if no working home for them can be found. All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies, and treated for fleas and parasites before placement. Our requirements for placement of your barn cats: A SECURE PLACE, inside an outbuilding, to kennel them for 3-5 weeks. This enables them to learn where they will be fed, and who is feeding them, greatly increasing their chances of sticking around and surviving on your property once they are released. If released early, they will often run off in search of resources and die. **If you are located more than 90 minutes away from Farmington, MO, you must provide your own large crates or pay for us to bring them out and leave with you.** PERMANENT SHELTER. Accessible year-round, such as a barn, warehouse, or other outbuilding. DAILY FOOD AND WATER. Cats actually are better hunters when fed, contrary to popular belief. VETERINARY CARE AS NEEDED. We can loan humane traps if you need to take one to the veterinarian. THESE ARE NOT HOUSE CATS. We do not place them inside homes in residential areas. ****** WE DO NOT CHARGE A FEE. Donations are always appreciated and will be used to help the next cat in need. Please contact us for more information. We have cats for you!
