WAYLAND, MA — A state trooper is being credited with helping rescue a man injured by a chainsaw Friday morning at a job site along Route 20 in Wayland.
The 31-year-old worker, a member of a tree crew, cut himself with a chainsaw while working at a home near 207 Boston Post Road, according to the Wayland Fire Department. He was taken to Mass General Hospital in Boston for treatment following the accident.
But before Wayland firefighters arrived on the scene, state trooper Dan Cahill tended to the man's injuries by applying a tourniquet, state police said. Cahill was at the scene working a traffic detail.
State police said the worker's injuries were likely non-life threatening.
