SUDBURY, MA — Goodnow Library patrons will get expanded in-person access in June. The library will open its second-floor computer area after more than a year. The building will also be open longer hours and have a higher capacity. Starting June 1, the library will increase its capacity to 100 at a time. Time limits will also rise from 15 minutes to 90 minutes. The new hours will be Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Fridays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Goodnow building has been open to the public since April. But the state is beginning to loosen coronavirus restrictions further as the weather warms and more people get fully vaccinated. New Centers for Disease Control guidance allows fully vaccinated people to stop using masks in public, but Goodnow leaders are asking patrons to continue wearing them in the building. "Patrons have been overwhelmingly positive about the Library reopening, and are excited about expanding hours and services," Library Director Esmé Green said in a news release. "We will continue to follow the data, listen to the experts, and expand operations as soon as it is feasible."
