The Packaging Operator is responsible for safely operating Cheese Plant Packaging Equipment to package cheese in accordance with company Food Safety practices.. The ideal candidate will have a team-work attitude and a desire to be trained on food packaging equipment. Hours: M to F 5am - 1:30pm Responsibilities: Operate filling and packaging equipment, including weight control. Stage product and packaging supplies to meet daily production schedule. Practice proper product handling to ensure minimum product loss. Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by following food safety and sanitation policies and procedures. Prioritize safety above all other job duties by having a safety first approach at all times. Perform start up and shut down on packaging equipment. Notify Supervisor of any problems with equipment or processes that could affect the product integrity or quality, or that could impose a possible safety hazard. Maintain equipment and work environment cleanliness. Operate and understand fundamentals of multiple pieces of equipment. Qualifications: Familiarity with dairy and food plant operations is preferred. Ability to handle physical workload. Strong mechanical aptitude; maintenance-related background preferred. Attention to detail regarding machine operation, and outgoing package quality.
