Congratulations to the Northshore students who are recipients of this year's Washington State Parent Teacher Association (WSPTA) Reflections awards. The program supports the arts in the Northshore School District and is sponsored by the Northshore Council PTSA.
Nationwide, more than 300,000 students Pre-K through grade 12 created original works of art connected to this year's theme: "I Matter Because..."
Two Northshore students were recognized with Awards of Excellence at the national level and will receive a $200 scholarship: Owen Lorusso and Amelie Fry. Six Northshore students were recognized for their work at the state level.
National Level Award of Excellence Music Composition - Primary (Pre-K through Grade 2) - Owen Lorusso, Maywood Hills Elementary School Visual Arts - High School (grades 9-12) - Amelie Fry, Innovation Lab High School
Washington State Award of Merit Dance Choreography - High School (grades 9-12) - Makenzie Rogers, Woodinville High School Visual Arts - Middle School (grades 6-8) - Katie Rittenberg, Timbercrest Middle School
Award of Excellence Photography - Middle School (grades 6-8) - Elizabeth Miller, Northshore Middle School
Outstanding Interpretation Music Composition - Primary (Pre-K through Grade 2) - Owen Lorusso, Maywood Hills Elementary School Visual Arts - High School (grades 9-12) - Amelie Fry, Innovation Lab High School Visual Arts - Special Artist (all grades) - Sean Atwood, Skyview Middle School
